Lac de Maudan is located in the stunningly beautiful region of Limousin. Fresh water lakes, fast flowing streams, rolling valleys, forested mountains and traditional hamlets are in abundance across the area.
As one of the lowest populated regions in France, the Limousin has largely escaped the onward march of “progress” and retains much of its old world charm and some of the most unspoilt countryside in Europe.
350 Kilometres south of Paris, Limousin sits as the traditional heartland of France. The region
is made up of three departments - La Creuse to the east, Haute Vienne to the west, and Correze
to the south.
The A20 motorway cuts through the centre of the region providing excellent road links both north to Paris and south to Toulouse.
